With the approach of National Disability Employment Awareness Week, held from 17 to 23 November, the L’OCCITANE Group rallies. L'Occitane is strongly committed to the professional integration of people with disabilities, formalized notably by the signing of the French Diversity Charter last 23 October at UNESCO.
With an employment rate of 7.24% of disabled people as of December 31, 2013, L'OCCITANE is committed on its production sites to the direct and indirect recruitment of people with disabilities. What's more, the Group is also committed to outsourcing via sheltered-employment organizations and so works regularly with different ESATs, or French disability employment services.
Last year, a dozen disabled workers from the ESAT workshop “Les Ateliers du Fournas” in Manosque worked alongside L'OCCITANE logistics teams. This ambitious initiative stands out as a true educational accelerator since the workers have lately increased motivation by no less than 70% and their confidence by 30%.
