On January 4, L'OCCITANE celebrates World Braille Day in order to help raise public awareness of visual impairment. For 17 years, the brand has included braille on most of its packaging, making its products accessible to all. In 2006, L’OCCITANE decided to go further by engaging with its Foundation for the fight against visual impairment.
The brand is committed to actions of general interest in the fight against preventable blindness worldwide. In Burkina Faso, L'OCCITANE supports NGOs such as Light for the World and Helen Keller International to improve the quality and accessibility of eye care for the poor. These comprehensive programs train ophthalmologists via scholarships, for example.
L'OCCITANE also supported in Burkina Faso the RAAB (Rapid Assessment of Avoidable Blindness), an important study that will make much data available to NGOs and local authorities to improve the efficiency of their work.
