Position Title: Assistant Boutique Manager
Department: Retail
Reports to: Boutique Manager
Department Information: The Retail Department is responsible for sales, operations and customer service at a retail store level.


As an ambassador for L’Occitane, the role of Retail Assistant Boutique Manager is to assist the Boutique Manager to effectively manage the boutique and the team to consistently achieve the store objectives and assist in achieving the organisational goals.


  • To support the Boutique Manager in all day to day operational and personnel responsibilities.
  • To be a strong role model to all new boutique Team Members and assist in the management of the induction program.
  • To work with the Boutique manager to ensure all policies, procedures, reports and directives are executed in accordance to company guidelines, brand beliefs and Prosperity values.
  • To achieve individual targets and contribute to the overall teams sales results as per set targets and campaign launches and to monitor and assess sales contribution.
  • To be a sales and Customer Service role model to Boutique Team Members, consistently coaching the team on customer service and sales to improve and maintain expected performance and achievement of KPI’s.
  • To assist the Manager with stock management and stock takes. To deputize in the absence of the Boutique Manager with full administrative and reporting responsibility for the boutique.
  • Assists in developing the teams understanding of company procedures, true stories, core values and structure. In conjunction with the Boutique Manager, manage merchandising and housekeeping responsibilities for the boutique in a consistent and timely fashion and in line with company guidelines.
  • Coordination of the boutique roster and management of team member’s time keeping and absence reporting.
  • To consult with customers and promote and sell the L’OCCITANE range in accordance with Targets and KPI’s.
  • To assist the maintenance of optimal stock levels in core and campaign best-selling lines
  • Possess 100% customer focus, including being approachable and courteous
  • Retail and sales experience Basic understanding of Health & Safety and HR at boutique level.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop a team Results driven and ability to multitask.
  • High degree of empathy, understands how to deal with team issues and can anticipate how this may impact on others.
  • Understands the business objectives, is passionate & driven to contribute to L’Occitane success.
  • Stay up to date on all product knowledge; ensuring modules are completed on our Learning Management System (LMS).

  • PC literate in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • 1-2 years retail management experience (preferably in the beauty industry or similar)
  • Strong business acumen with proven experience in managing operations of a business, KPIs and sales targets.
  • Personal Development - Must be self aware & committed to developing and growing as a leader. Embraces and is able to provide clear & effective feedback
