Trade Marketing Manager - North Sydney

Position Title: Trade Marketing Manager

This role is pivotal in developing and implementing our marketing plan across retail and general wholesale channels from conception, creation and follow up of the execution of all campaign elements, to campaign results and sales analysis, as well as Visual Merchandising.
The role is perfect for an individual who is tenacious, thrives in a fast paced environment managing numerous projects at once and is looking to bring his/her marketing experience to the next level.

Promotional Strategy
Trade marketing plan conception and execution for owned boutiques and general wholesale

  • Develop, along with the Marketing Director, and implement marketing campaigns in a timely and effective manner for all channels including own retail and general wholesale
  • Define the type of signage (posters, show cards) and the various print materials (leaflet, flyers) that need to be created for each campaign.
  • Oversee the briefing of documents to deliver impactful marketing campaigns, in line with our brand image.
  • Supervises the creation of a Campaign Communication Pack (CCP) for each window campaign; collating information from various departments to give stores one comprehensive document they can rely on.
  • Follow up the development of all collateral.
  • Liaise with the stock department and/or warehouse to ensure all stock deliveries are planned and products are available for the launch of the campaign.
  • Devise and drive local eventing to increase the experiential side of the brand
  • Supervise the local development of packaging and promotional material to be on brand and cost efficient
  • Work within budget frame and follow up with the finance team.

Campaigns amplification

  • Local marketing for boutiques
    • Supporting individual stores implementing local marketing activities with pro-active strategy
    • Liaise with store managers on all local marketing activities in order to maximise their business & add value.
    • Develop strategic partnerships with key centre management at a national level to amplify local campaigns
    • Assisting with new store opening
  • General Wholesale communication support: develop a co-op advertising plan with key accounts and roll out
  • Assist and support the team with new store opening (retail and general wholesale)

Product management

  • Forecast products per promotional offer across all channels and provide to supply chain
  • Provide products forecast for new products for both retail and wholesale and provide completed order form to supply chain
  • Assist the Marketing Director with pricing strategy and define prices for promotional items for all channels, across own retail, wholesale and outlet.
  • Manage, revisit and implement product assortment per channel (retail, outlet and general wholesale)

Sales Analysis

  • Accurate and timely analysis of each campaign, particularly on the first day of the campaign.
  • Conduct weekly campaign analysis and a campaign report at the end of each campaign to analyse campaign effectiveness, promotional performances, ROI and key learnings.
  • Manage updates and share key learnings from the PAF (international controlling tool) for every campaign.
  • Run regular dashboards on sales to better understand the business, identify strengths and weaknesses and recommend accurate actions.


  • Become familiar with the merchandising practice of L’Occitane through the guide and implement those standards in the boutiques and in the non-retail channels.
  • Fully support changes and adaptations in the Visual Merchandising platform.
  • Supervise the Visual Merchandiser to collate and deliver comprehensive guidelines to team members and stores on events and campaigns throughout the year.
  • Supervise the Visual Merchandiser to keep the schematics up to date and inform Supply Chain team.

Financial Management

  • Maintain full budgetary awareness and assist in keeping all marketing expenses (approved by Marketing Director) within the budget.
  • Manage all elements of appropriate budget lines to ensure it is within marketing budget.
  • Assist in providing post-financial analysis on various marketing activities.

Management of a team of 3

  • Manage and inspire the Campaign Marketing Management team:
    • Retail Marketing Executive
    • General Wholesale Executive
    • Visual Merchandiser Retail and Non Retail

POSITION PRE-REQUISITES – PERSON SPECIFICATION (eg qualifications, experience etc.)

  • Min. 5-7 years experience in Marketing and at least 2 years experience within a similar role - preferably in the retail industry.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to define and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in managing relationships with internal stakeholders (supply chain, finance, retail team, non-retail team, boutique members)
  • Flexible, must be able to function in fast-paced environment and juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Team player with the ability to lead and coach a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to respectfully give and receive feedback
