Plastic pollution is everywhere. As we know, if we want a cleaner future, we need to cut down on plastic and on general waste. At L'OCCITANE, we're not only increasing our use of recycled plastic and eco-refills; we also have a long-standing partnership with TerraCycle® to transform difficult-to-recycle items into something useful. However, whilst some of us may have more time on our hands, why not do some upcycling? It's a great way to reduce waste, reuse your packaging and get creative at home!
How Are We Upcycling?
SMALL GARDEN
IDEA
Transform your Almond Milk Concentrate jars into tiny plant holders. So easy: simply clean the jar, place some compost in it, and add one of your favourite plants.
STORE YOUR JEWELLERY
When your scented candle is finished, remove any remaining wax and the wick, then use the beautiful jar to store your necklaces, rings and earrings. Simple, but very effective.
ORGANISE THE KITCHEN
Once your face mask jars have finished, clean the jar and use it to hold herbs, spices and even dried fruit, nuts or a little home made pudding.
Another Life For Your Eco-Refills
A HANGING HERB POT
Bring a herb garden into your home by reusing your eco-refill sachet, as the base for the herb pot.
REFILL POT PLANT
Make a decorative feature of your plants, with a little help from some eco-refill sachets and some wood.
HIKING WATER BOTTLE
Take an empty eco-refill, wash it, refill it with water and voila, perfect drink bottle for weekend hikes.

This might be our most difficult upcycling creation, but the team definitely had a lot of fun doing it.
USE AN ECO-REFILL INSTEAD
Simply pierce holes for drainage, fill with compost and sow your seeds. Once your plants are ready to go outside, you can rinse the sachet out and put it away for next year. You can also store it flat, which takes up less room.
